This foodie was at it again, jaunting around town in search of the best places to grab a bite. In this second installment in the “Anxious Angie Eats” series, I had my sights—and taste buds—set on Avalon, the sustainably-designed 86-acre development located in Alpharetta GA, a spectacular destination unto itself! Sprawling with a plethora of great eateries, these are some standouts of mine. (When I return to other areas of Alpharetta such as downtown, I’ll add some delicious new photos to this post.)

Serving Southern California-inspired coastal cuisine in a casual, upscale environment, this seafood joint features a raw bar, classic boat drinks, and a rooftop tiki bar. Having just opened this past spring and showing lots of promise, the immense crowds kept us away twice. Choosing to dine mid afternoon at a less busy hour, the third time was definitely the charm, and holy moly, are we glad we persisted! Their clam strips and hot buttered lobster rolls (Maine lobster) are among the best we’ve ever had! I’m salivating just thinking about them. 🤤 For all seafood lovers, this place is a must-visit.

Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this European-style coffeehouse offers many diverse menu options such as all-day breakfast items, soups, salads, sandwiches, hand-spun crêpes, pasta, a plethora of desserts, and more. Their 65-page beverage book has over a hundred choices, both with and without alcohol. Even though I usually go to this location for a mid afternoon latte or espresso martini which are some of the best around, I have had their spinach & artichoke crêpe at their Dunwoody location, and it was sensational!

A stunning array of wines from all over the world at every price point can be enjoyed by the glass, flight, or bottle. Their extensive food menu includes items such as small “taste & share” plates, main entrees, stone fired pizza, artisan cheese flights, and desserts. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food, wine, and service have been impeccable every time! They also have rooftop dining and are open for Sunday brunch.

For healthy and delicious food fast, this order-at-the-counter eatery is as fresh and wholesome as it gets! Their rotating menu includes a fabulous assortment of soups, salads, sandwiches, and wraps, all prepared fresh daily using locally-sourced produce and herbs. Half salads, half sandwiches, and combo plates are available. They also have a grab-and-go case. If these pics don’t do it for you, head to their Facebook page to view the smorgasbord of mouthwatering photos if you really want to get your taste buds singing and dancing…but try not to salivate (like I nearly did). Better yet, if you’re in the vicinity, stop by and pay them a visit!

This upscale American restaurant provides a unique concept in dining unequaled in Alpharetta. Everything is made fresh in their scratch kitchen, and their menu offers a vast selection of tempting choices. Having perhaps one of the nicest modern indoor/outdoor bars around, it’s the perfect spot—and our go-to place in nice weather—to hang out and enjoy a lazy afternoon (and a great place to people watch…if you’re into that sort of thing). Once again, I didn’t take many food pics, but I can assure you, this place is worth a visit.
