It seems as though our favorite restaurants are ganging up and out to get us. I realize that seems far fetched, but let me explain. In the past few months, we’ve learned that many of our favorite food items have been discontinued from restaurant menus and that one of our favorite restaurants even had the audacity to go out of business. 😱
When you’re a foodie like me, you don’t take these things lightly. I realize it happens from time to time, but it always seems to happen to us, just when we’ve become attached to certain menu items and restaurants.
In no particular order, I’ve created this “restaurant food graveyard” to memorialize them. (I need help. 🤦🏻♀️)
Carrabba’s Italian Grill
Really? I mean, who gets rid of spinach?! Seems like a staple restaurant ingredient, but I guess not.
Sure, they have other pasta, but there’s nothing quite like those spirally tubes with sauce-hugging ridges!
- Brunch menu
No more brunch menu = no more breakfast pizzas!! Whaaaat?!! These were seriously the best pizzas! Why am I even living anymore? 😞
- Bomboloni gelato sandwich
While they still have their 18 flavors of awesome gelato, having that gelato stuffed inside a hot-pressed sugar-coated brioche was dessert heaven. “Waaaah” big time! 😩
Stone’s Cuisine and Cocktails
- Cabernet poached pear salad
Seriously disappointed but felt this one coming.
- Bahia nachos with mesquite house-smoked tilapia
I’m craving them right now, so maybe I’d better go get some…oh, that’s right, I CAN’T! 🤨
Brine Seafood Shack
- Fried clam strips
This one blows big time! Clam strips…at a seafood restaurant. Seems logical to me! Why remove such a popular item? I guess they weren’t that popular after all. 🤷🏻♀️
- Spinach & artichoke crepe with gruyere
I’m going to have to hurt somebody over this stupid decision. 👊
- Turkey burger with havarti and basil mayo
I will truly miss this delicious, tasty burger. Please bring it back! 🙏🏻
Corkscrew Cafe, Downtown Dahlonega
EVERY item was taken off their menu, because they’re OUT OF BUSINESS!!
Damn, didn’t see that one coming. To say I was NOT happy when we arrived to find it closed down is a huge understatement. 😣 I even said to my husband as we were driving toward it, “Watch it’s not in business anymore.” Man, I hate being right. Downtown Dahlonega will never be the same for us.
As you can see, there are many causes for my anxieties. I just don’t know how much more disappointment I can take. Maybe with some (food) therapy, I’ll be ok. 🙂 Then again, maybe not. 🙃
