I’m Angela (aka Anxious Angie), an aspiring writer starting my journey with this blog as my creative outlet and platform to break into the field. Thankfully, I’ve been blessed with an (over) active imagination and a great sense of humor, and – at the same time – burdened with an infinite array of anxieties and quirks. But it’s ok, because these components collectively will be the driving force and inspiration behind the content on this site and for future works. I have some exciting story ideas based on Anxious Angie’s life that are sure to entertain! You’ll get a flavor for her character throughout the blog, and I cannot wait to share them with you!
I grew up in a suburb outside of New York City in a typical Italian Catholic household. You know, the one with the Mary-on-the-half-shell birdbath situated on the front lawn…didn’t every Italian family have one of these?
We had a fabulous vegetable and fruit garden that my father lovingly cultivated over the years, including a small vineyard! I used to help him make wine in our cellar. Pretty cool, right?
Being Italian, it’s no surprise that I love to eat. My voracious appetite constantly surprises people…myself included. 🍽
I believe in thoroughly savoring each bite, which is usually accompanied by closing my eyes and emitting little moans of delight when I’m eating something really scrumptious. This becomes increasingly more difficult to do when dining out, which is often! 😳 I’ve even been known to ask my husband if we can ‘be quiet’ at the end of our meal so I can enjoy my last bite of food. Am I the only one who does this?
Many years ago, I became intrigued with mixology and began my journey by making mojitos, followed by a copious amount of martinis over the years. So much so that I always offered to be the designated bartender for countless parties for family and friends. (Probably why I’m so popular with them.) Read more about my journey into mixology and bartending here.
My newfound love affair with wine has led us to discovering Georgia’s breathtaking wine country. To find out more, read here.
My husband and I will be married 31 years this month, a blessing for which I am extremely grateful. His name is Mike, and he is my everything – best friend, confidant, support system, travel buddy…my rock!
We frequently reminisce about our life together and have certainly had our share of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. 💞
We currently make our home outside of Atlanta with the last of our fur kids – two senior (17-year-old) female felines who take residence in our comfy, kitty-tested-and-approved basement apartment. I guess you can call it a “cat condo”. 😺
Mittens is the sweetest cat! She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She is extremely affectionate and loves to play. I recently found her resting in a bag of bags. I was like, “whaaat?”
Pebbles is also very sweet, but she’s afraid of her own shadow; she runs and hides from everyone…except me, of course. She’s as skittish as she is submissive to my touch.
Not too long ago, I discovered that Pebbles loves belly rubs! Didn’t even realize cats like them. All I have to do is grab her by the scruff of her neck, and she will lower herself to the ground and lay on her side…except now when she sees me approaching, she does it completely on her own! It’s the cutest thing ever. Meow.
Thankfully, since our move, I have been afforded the opportunity to do some soul searching, which lead me to discovering that one of my truest passions is to be a writer.
Here’s a recent fortune cookie ‘fortune’ I received, which is now taped to my laptop for motivation. The timing couldn’t be more perfect! 🤔✍
